Gary Holt reveals his lockdown broken leg as Livingston boss suffers freak injury

Crocked Gary Holt has revealed he’s living his lockdown hell with a broken leg.

The Livingston boss suffered a freak accident last week which sent him to the fracture clinic and will be laid up for weeks.

As the nation continues to social distance during the coronavirus pandemic, Holt admits he only has himself to blame for spending isolation on crutches.

He said: “It was a freak accident, I stood up, tripped over my own feet and went down over on my ankle.

“At first I just thought it was a sprain and it was more the embarrassment of falling.

“The pain then surged and once the embarrassment eased I realised I needed to get it checked. After an X-ray, I was told the ankle was broken.

“The care that I received was exemplary and I’ll be on crutches for a few weeks then hopefully back and maybe even as good as new eventually.”

Holt hasn’t received a lot of sympathy from his staff at the Premiership club.

The Lions gaffer said: “I will need to be more careful in the future but sympathy from the staff at Livingtson, namely my kitman Cheb, hasn’t been forthcoming.”
