Gary Holt installed as favourite for Kilmarnock job after Steve Clarke leaves for Scotland

Gary Holt has been installed as the early favourite for the Kilmarnock job.

Skybet have priced the Killie legend at 2/1 favourite, ahead of Ally McCoist who is narrowly behind him at 7/2.

Holt won the Scottish Cup during his six-year stay at Killie between 1995 and 2001.

And it's no surprise that the man who has a Kilmarnock tattoo is touted for the job - but he may feel he has unfinished business at Livingston, who gave him a chance of managing in the Scottish Premiership.

McCoist played at Rugby Park between 1998 and 2001, and has admitted this week that he'd be interested in the job.

Alex Dyer is third favourite, with club captain Kris Boyd weighing in at 8/1.

An unlikely Lee McCulloch return to the Rugby Park dugout is 10/1, with current Celtic caretaker Neil Lennon at 14/1.

The outsider in the running is Roberto Di Matteo, who won the Champions League with Chelsea.
