Gary Cahill lifts the lid on what Tottenham stars should expect from 'frosty' Jose Mourinho

Gary Cahill has said that Jose Mourinho will be looking for a reaction from his Tottenham players after their recent form.

Spurs are in a poor run of form after losing their last three Premier League games, with Mourinho's side slipping to ninth in the table ahead of a game against West Bromwich Albion tomorrow.

The latest defeat - a 1-0 loss at home against Chelsea - has led to fresh criticism of Mourinho and Tottenham after a disappointing display against their rivals from west London.

But former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has claimed that the nature of the defeat against the Blues may prove to be the turning point for Mourinho and his side.

And former Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, who worked with Mourinho during his second spell in west London, believes the Spurs boss will be applying pressure to his players as he looks for a response.

“When you are winning and doing well, he is phenomenal in terms of the way he makes players feel and the squad when you are going out, you feel you are going to win, you feel uber confident," he said, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live.

“In the situation he is in now, he will definitely not be happy, I think the mood will be frosty, he doesn’t like losing, which is why he is so successful.

“I think he will be applying pressure to the squad and looking for a reaction, to see if they will deliver and react as he wants them to.

“But for sure, at the minute, he won’t be laughing and joking."
