Gary Barlow thrilled by lockdown mask laws as he gets to shop at Asda in peace

With lockdown feeling like it is in it’s 8746th week, many have well and truly had enough of being restricted to life by the coronavirus pandemic.

But pop superstar Gary Barlow has found one upside to all the months of social distancing and equipping ourselves with PPE.

The 50-year-old Take That star has discovered that the mandatory face mask order for everyone in the UK while shopping has allowed him an unexpected level of anonymity.

The Greatest Day singer has found he is able to waltz the aisle of supermarkets and pick up coriander, cabbage or anything else he wants to buy without being mobbed by fans.

Gary Barlow loves to hit the supermarkets in his PPE (PA)

He told Cosmopolitan magazine: “I was in Asda the other week and people just wandered by me.

“I’m going to do Aldi next week.”

He gushed: “That it’s illegal not to wear a mask is the best thing that’s ever happened.”

Gas also said he is enjoying spending time with his wife, Dawn, and their children; 20-year-old Daniel, 18-year-old Emily, and 11-year-old Daisy.

The star said he has found himself becoming unexpectedly emotional while watching Disney movies with his youngest child.

He said: “She has these films on and I think, ‘What have we got to sit through tonight?’

“Then you watch it and you are in bloody tears.”

And the star also finds himself crying while curled up with Dawn.

He revealed: “The other one that gets me is (US drama series) This Is Us. I’ve had to stop watching it.

“When my wife and I got to season three, I looked at her and said, ‘I can’t do this any more, it’s ruining my life’.”
