Gary Barlow sparks concern after issuing update on wife's 'big operation'

Gary Barlow has had an outpouring of support from fans after sharing a health update on his wife Dawn Andrews, who he said had "a big operation" earlier this week.

The Take That singer, 51, took to Twitter on Sunday (September 11) to tell fans his wife was in "a lot of pain". The musician tried to stay positive as he said she was starting to get better.

"In other news - Mrs B broke her wrist 4 weeks ago - on Friday she had a big operation.

"She’s in a lot of pain but on the mend - juggling real life this week with the blessing of being in the West End - it never rains," he wrote.

Gary is currently performing in his show A Different Stage as he takes it on tour across the country to promote his new book. The show features his music and intimate chats with audiences.

Fans rushed to offer their well wishes after hearing the news about Dawn, with one person writing: "Wishing Dawn a speedy recovery xxx."

"Sending love and hugs for a speedy recovery to Dawn. It can be difficult to juggle everything life throws at us when our lives are busy. Just make sure you both take it easy x," another penned.

A third fan said: "Speedy recovery wishes Mrs Barlow sending love and prayers xxx," while someone else added: "Sending love to Dawn. Hope she makes a quick recovery.....if I could give you a hug I would do! You've got this Barlow!! Xxxx."

"Hope Mrs B has a speedy recovery and gets back to normal soon and you're looking after her the best you can Gary sending love to you and Dawn take care of yourself and Dawn love u so much love lana Xxxx," chimed another fan.

It comes after Gary opened up about the tragic stillbirth of his baby girl while on tour.

His and Dawn's fourth child, Poppy, was sadly born stillborn in August 2012, with Gary admitting he struggled to deal with "the scar that wasn't going to heal".

He said: "The moment that Poppy Barlow was born the light that filled the room was just magical.

"Over that next hour we took turns nursing her, cuddling her, having pictures taken with her, hands, footprints, just anything to try and extend those short 60 minutes. But the nurse came and told us our time was up.

"We kissed her good-bye and off she went."

Gary added: "I found myself back in that familiar place, not knowing any of the words or where to stand, nor what to say. I needed to accept this wasn’t a scar that was going to heal with time, this was a scar I was going to die with."

He said the tragic event gave him the ability to reflect on his own life for the first time and gave him a new sense of perspective.

"This guy has got the gift of Poppy Barlow, the gift of perspective. I’d never had that before. A real lesson into what’s important," Gary said.
