Gary Barlow has become the latest celebrity to venture into wine as his own brand from Spain officially hits Morrisons shelves across Scotland.
Gary Barlow Organic, created in partnership with Benchmark Drinks, is the musicians organic wine duo that has been inspired by his time in Spain.
The British supermarket chain officially announced on their Instagram the wine duo has officially hit stores across Scotland and that wine, and Take That fans, can get their hands on a bottle for just £6 exclusively in-stores.
Barlow has been sharing information about his latest venture on his Instagram page where he made the official announcement last week.
Paul Schaafsma, MD Benchmark Drinks has said: "It has been a privilege to partner with Gary Barlow and help bring his dream alive, to launch his own range of organic wines."
The wine duo has been many years in the making, as Gary acquired a taste for wine over the years and developing his own wine range.
He then spent the past two years collaborating with London-based distributor Benchmark Drinks to create a well-balanced, sophisticated and sustainable wine range, with unique packaging featuring a stylish piano key design as a nod to his long-enduring musical career.
The wine duo features a 100 per cent organic red and white wine that are Gary's standout blends that have originated from Spain, after months of wine development and tasting.
The musician's key inspiration was his time in Spain and the passion of those involved in the winemaking process, which led him to launch Gary Barlow Organic from Spain's Castillo Region.
Barlow has said: “ The definition of a great evening for me is friends, laughter and good wine. I’ve been fortunate enough to have travelled and experienced different cultures over the years and wines from across the world. After months of learning about the process and tasting different blends, I’m very proud to now launch my own range of organic wines from Spain.”
The Gary Barlow Organic RED is a juicy, unoaked wine, displaying aromas of red wild berries with a touch of rosemary and chocolate. The medium body and beautiful balance between the good fruit concentration, fresh acidity and fine tannins, make it a highly versatile food wine to match tapas, pasta and a wide range of savoury and meat dishes.
The Gary Barlow Organic WHITE is pale bright in colour, displaying aromas of lime and pear cut by a gentle note of anise. It shows a zesty, lingering lime palate. A refreshing wine, perfect to be drunk in summer with salads, poultry and light seafood dishes.
The wines have also been created with sustainability in mind, which also matches up with Barlow's ethos.
The wines have been produced by Peninsula Wines in Spain. Founded by Andreas Kubach and Sam Harrop, they’re both Masters of Wine and renowned for their sustainability and “sympathetic winemaking”, embracing both nature and science to make wine with as little intervention as possible.
Gary Barlow Organic can now be found in Morrisons stores across Scotland the rest of the UK.
