Gary Barlow confirms Take That are NOT retiring

This could be the greatest day for Take That fans.

Gary Barlow has revealed the band's anniversary tour is NOT a goodbye, simply the “end of part two”.

The frontman, 47, is heading out on the road with Howard Donald and Mark Owen next year to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Barlow said: “Let's hope [it’s] not [farewell]! This feels like end of part two to us.

“Part one was the 90s and part two is three decades of music. Then, after this, we can get excited about what's next.”

Bandmate Owen, 46, also teased some small details about the tour, saying that it will “include some songs they haven’t performed for a long time”.

Their appearance on the BBC chat show, on which they also performed Greatest Day, comes on the same day the band released their latest album Odyssey.

To mark the milestone occasion, the now three-piece band released a new video for their first chart-topping single Pray, featuring archive footage from behind the scenes.

Take That formed as a five piece in 1989, featuring Robbie Williams and Jason Orange. Williams left in 1996 and then again in 2014, alongside Orange.

The band joined comedian Joe Lycett, cyclist Geraint Thomas, TV legend Stephen Fry and Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman on the famous red sofa on Friday.

The Graham Norton Show is on BBC One, Friday at 10.35pm
