Scores of patients and staff were spotted outside Gartnavel General Hospital after a suspicious package was found.
An eyewitness at the scene told Glasgow Live the evacuation began at around 10am, with "police moving everyone further back from the building".
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Glasgow Live: "Police were called to Gartnaval Hospital in Glasgow around 10.05am on Monday, 24 August, 2020, following the discovery of a suspicious package.
"Following examination, the item posed no threat to the public and was innocent in nature."
Scottish Fire say they are currently not in attendance at the scene.
NHSGCC have been contacted for comment.
