Garth Crooks names the one Arsenal player who had the 'game of his life' vs Bournemouth

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Garth Crooks has claimed that Thomas Partey had the game of his life during Arsenal's win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners got off to the worst possible start at the Emirates Stadium, conceding within the first ten seconds to midfielder Phillip Billing, with his finish the second-fastest goal in Premier League history. The away side then doubled their lead in the second period through Marcos Senesi, who headed past Aaron Ramsdale following some sloppy defending from Partey during a corner.

However, the Ghana international quickly redeemed himself, scoring to half the Cherries' deficit before Ben White equalised shortly after. Hale End academy graduate Reiss Nelson then completed the comeback in dramatic fashion, scoring in the 97th minute to restore the north Londoners' five-point lead at the top of the league table.

After the match, BBC pundit Crooks heaped praise on Partey's performance, one which he thinks was the best since he arrived in N5 back in October 2020. "At the moment everything Arsenal seem to touch turns to gold", Crooks wrote, including the midfielder in his Premier League team of the week.

"Granit Xhaka misses his first Premier League game of the season, just as Partey returns to the side from injury and has the game of his life."
