Garth Crooks says that Harry Kane and Gareth Bale's form for Spurs means he now fancies them to beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final in April.
Spurs have been in fine form recently, with four straight wins in all competitions and 13 goals in those matches.
Bale has been in fine form in front of goal and is now really starting to show the quality that shone through during his first spell in North London, while Kane continues to go from strength to strength both as a goalscorer and creator.
Kane laid on two goals for Bale in the 4-1 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday evening as well as scoring two of his own, and their performances in the win against Roy Hodgson's team put them into Crooks' team of the week.
The former Spurs and Manchester United midfielder is also backing the duo to fire Jose Mourinho to a Carabao Cup win against Manchester City when the teams meet at Wembley in April.
"The two assists for Bale were unselfishly brilliant, while his first goal was simply sensational," Crooks told the BBC.
"Spurs were too good for Palace on the day, although the visitors did have a moment.
"It has taken him some time to get match fit but what an asset Gareth Bale is proving to be.
"His two goals against Crystal Palace, both laid on a plate by Harry Kane, were well taken. However, Wales international Bale is finding some form and the net too. Six goals in six games is much more like what you expect.
"The big question now is: can he win a trophy with Spurs? I suddenly fancy Spurs to beat Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final with Bale and Kane in this mood."
