Garth Brooks offers Travis Kelce a Friends in Low Places duet after hysterical, drunken Chiefs parade performance

Sometimes, altering song lyrics while completely plastered gets you stares from strangers, but if you’re Travis Kelce, it gets you an invite from Garth Brooks to sing.

Travis was full of liquid courage when he recently sang a custom version of Friends in Low Places during the Chiefs Super Bowl parade. The version was so, uh, unique that, per Natalie Neysa Alund of USA TODAY, Garth Brooks has invited Travis to sing his famous song with him at the grand opening of the Friends in Low Places Bar and Honky Tonk on March 7. If Travis accepts — which would mean pausing his time with Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour — Garth offered to send a plane to pick him up.

Garth’s connection to Kansas City goes well beyond Travis’ cover of the song. For several years, the Kansas City Royals played Friends in Low Places during their sixth inning, and Brooks has recorded numerous videos for the team to play on the jumbotron as fans sang along.
