Garth Brooks 24/7 Sirius XM channel to launch Sept. 8

Garth Brooks fans will soon be able to hear the country superstar's music 24/7 when Sirius XM satellite radio service launches a new Garth Brooks channel for its subscribers.

The Garth Channel will premiere Sept. 8 and will be curated and presented by Brooks, who joins a short list of pop musicians with their own full-time satellite radio outlets including Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen and Willie Nelson.

In addition to featuring recordings released by Brooks since his arrival on the country scene in the 1980s, the channel will feature shows hosted by Brooks, behind-the-scenes programs, guest DJ spots with his friends and fans, concert recordings and other material from his archives.

"It's rare to be handed an opportunity that can grow as big as you can dream," Brooks said in a statement. "That is exactly what Sirius XM has just done.... We are very grateful for this opportunity and very excited about its potential."

The channel will be available to Sirius XM subscribers on radio, cellphones and online. Brooks is continuing his world tour with his wife, singer Trisha Yearwood, which began in 2014, ending a 17-year hiatus from touring while he dedicated most of his time and energy to raising his three daughters.

Brooks and Yearwood have been on the road for nearly two years, doing a series of multi-show residencies in cities around the country, and have sold nearly 5 million tickets.
