Gartcairn v Cambuslang Rangers postponed after Covid outbreak as Mills explains

The massive West of Scotland Conference B clash between Gartcairn and Cambuslang Rangers has been postponed.

It was set to be a top of the table clash at MCT Park tomorrow afternoon but it's been called off due to a Covid outbreak in the Gartcairn squad.

Numerous players within the Cairn squad have tested positive while other players are awaiting the results of tests.

Gartcairn assistant Scott Mills explained: "We had players contact us during the week to inform us of their positive tests.

"We cancelled training and we've had more players telling us that they have symptoms and they are getting tests.

"A few players are away today for tests and people have had tests yesterday. It's been a waiting game but fingers crossed that people will be negative so they are safe.

"The most important thing is that the positive players are able to self-isolate, get better and fully recover.

"We've been looking forward to the game all week. We played the Scottish Cup last week and got a positive result.

"We wanted to try and cut the gap between ourselves and Cambuslang.

"It's just one of these things and you can't be in control of what is happening in the world just now."
