Gartcairn chairman Martin Peacock has confirmed the club will look at their league options if promotion is axed in the West of Scotland League.
It was revealed today that 14 clubs wish to withdraw from the divisions before a ball has been kicked on October 24.
Multiple sources have now confirmed to Lanarkshire Live Sport that the league have tabled a plan to axe promotion and relegation between the Premier Division and Conference groups if even one club walks away.
Conference A outfit Whittlets have now confirmed they will not take part in the inaugural campaign, with Kilsyth Rangers previously considering mothballing.
MTC Park chief Peacock has confirmed they will fight the decision in the courts if they are not given the chance to be promoted from Conference B.
He told Lanarkshire Live Sport : "It is certainly up for discussion just now [no promotion and relegation] and it appears they have taken some of the information in the survey to propose this.
"We don't think that is fair at all. if that proposal went ahead we may seek legal advice on it.
"We joined this league to win it and get promoted. We certainly aren't going to play in a league that has no promotion or relegation - what is the point?
"We've formed a great club and have a great infrastructure so we won't be playing not to win the league and get promotion.
"We've got all these great players and have improved the facilities no end. If they decide to go down this road we may have to look at legal action.
"We just want to play football, and so do the players. We want a football team that plays football.
"If other teams don't have the budget to start the season it's not our fault. You work to your budget.
"We feel like this is a punishment for clubs when we have budgeted right."
The Airdrie side have signed big names Gary Harkins and Steven Saunders this summer as they look to climb the pyramid, starting with the opening day clash with Neilston.
