Gareth Southgate makes Mason Mount decision as England line-up 'leaked' for Euro 2020 final

Mason Mount is set to start tonight's Euro 2020 final for England against Italy.

Just over a month ago, the Chelsea midfielder was included in Thomas Tuchel's starting XI for argubaly the biggest club game of his career to date - the Champions League final against Manchester City.

The 22-year-old ended up claiming the assist for Kai Havertz to score the only goal of the game.

And in another show of trust in Mount, Gareth Southgate is set to keep faith in the midfielder against Italy as he seeks to lead England to their first major international tournament since 1966.

Despite a report from The Sun, who claim that Southgate will change his system at Wembley Stadium, it won't impact Mount.

In fact, it's Arsenal's Bukyo Saka who will be replaced by Atletico Madrid fullback Kieran Trippier to allow Southgate to start with a back five, the same system that he deployed against Germany at the last-16 stage.

That means Mount will push into an advanced wide role behind lone striker Harry Kane.

It's a role that he is used to, having shone there since the appointment of Tuchel as Blues head coach back in January.

Southgate's reported decision to go with Mount should come as no surprise after labelling the Chelsea ace as "exceptional" a few months ago.

"He is an exceptional player, he finds space intelligently, he creates chances, he scores goals," Southgate said.

With that said, Mount is set to be the only Chelsea representative in the England XI.

Reece James and Ben Chilwell are set to be options from the bench.

Predicted England XI: (3-4-2-1) Pickford; Trippier, Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Phillips; Mount, Sterling; Kane.
