Gareth Southgate leads UK sport stars at Wimbledon 2019 as Andy Murray's last stand continues

England boss Gareth Southgate led a plethora of sporting stars to Wimbledon on Saturday, as Andy Murray prepared for action.

Three Lions chief Southgate was joined by wife Alison on day six at SW19 - taking his place in the Royal Box - with stars of cricket, cycling, rugby and athletics also turning out.

Olympians Sir Mo Farah and Sir Chris Hoy were both in situ, as were former boxing world champions Carl Froch and David Haye.

England’s World Cup cricket stars Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan were also in attendance, enjoying some relaxation ahead of this week’s semi-final, while former fast-bowler Jimmy Anderson took in the action too.

Andy Murray, whose mixed doubles match with Serena Williams was cancelled on Friday night, was out on the practice courts early.

Their match against Germany's Andreas Mies and Alexa Guarachi of Chile is set to take place on Saturday - time and court still to be confirmed, although not before 5:30pm.

Both were facing the prospect of two matches on Saturday, with Williams first in singles action and Murray due to play his second round men’s doubles match alongside France’s Pierre-Hugues Herbert.

Seven-time singles champion Williams opened on Court One at 1pm against Germany's Julia Gorges in their third-round match.

Earlier on court, two-time champion Petra Kvitova eased into the fourth round with a win over Magda Linette on court two.

The sixth seed won 6-3 6-2 in 69 minutes, to set up a potential meeting with British No.1 Johanna Konta.

Konta meets ninth seed Sloane Stephens later on Saturday .
