Gareth Southgate facing a tough decision over Bukayo Saka and Mason Mount ahead of Germany clash

Bukayo Saka has said he is "not scared of anyone" ahead of England's last 16 clash with Germany but the Arsenal star may have to settle for a place on the substitutes bench on Tuesday.

Saka shone for Gareth Southgate's side in the 1-0 Group D win over the Czech Republic, a victory that saw England top their group, but with Phil Foden set to return and Mason Mount in contention for a recall, Saka is sweating on his place in the team.

Foden was rested for the final group match due to a yellow card he received in the opening match against Croatia with Southgate not willing to risk a suspension to one of his key attackers.

Mount was unavailable for selection due to coronavirus regulations following his chat inside the Wembley tunnel with Chelsea teammates Billy Gilmour and Ben Chilwell.

Foden is available and expected to start for the Three Lions against Germany and according to a report in the Mail on Sunday Mount is in strong contention to return to the starting XI despite training in isolation for the match.

If Southgate opts to recall both men, Saka's spot is most likely to be at risk despite the promising showing against the Czech's.

Mount and Chilwell will be free to link up with their England colleagues from Tuesday morning, meaning the pair will be able to attend team meetings ahead of the game and play if selected by Southgate.

Saka gave no indication of whether he will start or not when speaking to BBC Sport but the Arsenal man revealed the prospect holds no fear for him.

"If I do play against Germany it’ll probably be the biggest game of my career, so I don’t know how I’ll feel on the day but right now I'm not scared of anyone really," he said.

"It is just nice to be there it reminds me of my childhood [playing at Wembley] I’ve always dreamt of playing there, it’s really special."
