Gareth Bale walks out of UEFA Euro 2020 interview as Wales captain forces abrupt end to retirement questions

Gareth Bale walked out of a post-match Euro 2020 interview after being asked if he planned to retire from football.

The Wales captain and his side slumped to a heavy 4-0 last 16 defeat to Denmark on Saturday night as they crashed spectacularly out of the tournament.

Kasper Dolberg inspired the Danes to a resounding victory in which Harry Wilson was sent off late on.

Bale addressed his team-mates on the pitch at full-time before speaking to the media pitchside.

But when the line of questioning turned to his future, Bale abruptly ended the interview and walked out of shot.

There has been speculation the veteran Real Madrid star could call it quits after the tournament.

The 31-year-old hasn't categorically denied the rumours and before the Euros he insisted announcing a decision on what comes would "cause chaos".

Bale, of course, should not be forced to answer anything he feels uncomfortable answering but his reaction will likely further fuel the speculation.

He spent last season on-loan at Tottenham Hotspur having fallen out of favour with boss Zinedine Zidane in the Spanish capital.
