Gareth Bale unfurls famous man bun in the middle of Real Madrid clash to show exactly what his hair looks like now

He rarely has a bad hair day for Wales or Real Madrid and is often a cut above his team-mates.

And for all the flak he's taken from fans and media after his world record £85.3million move to the global giants in September 2013, Gareth Bale can never be accused of letting his hair down in the Spanish capital.

But he did, literally speaking, this weekend - when the Welsh footballing superstar unfurled the most famous sporting bun in the game, to reveal just how long his locks have grown in the Spanish sun.

He looked a little bit like Peter 'Snakebite' Wright if the newly-crowned PDC Darts world champion hadn't visited his local hairdresser for a few years to get his famous coiffured Mohican style trimmed.

It was certainly a sight Wales fans have yet to see with Bale.

However, the momentary new hairstyle didn't bring a change of Real Madrid fortune for Bale, who was unable to break his scoring drought for the club stretching back to September 1.

He did, though, have a hand in Luca Modric's injury time goal that sealed a 3-0 victory. The Welshman also forced Getafe 'keeper David Soria into making two smart stops as Real briefly moved to the top of La Liga.

Barcelona then reclaimed top spot on Saturday evening when they drew 2-2 with Espanyol.

The two sides are locked level on 40 points, wtih Barca having a slightly better goal difference.
