Gareth Bale to Tottenham on loan? Agent rules out 'ridiculous' transfer

Gareth Bale is happy at Real Madrid and talk of a loan move away in January is "ridiculous", according to the forward's agent.

Bale was understood to be on the verge of a money-spinning move to China during the summer before Real Madrid president Florentino Perez pulled the plug.

Head coach Zinedine Zidane was vocal of his desire to sell Bale before the season but has integrated the Welshman back into his squad.

With another transfer window open, former club Tottenham have again been linked with interest in Spain but agent Jonathan Barnett has emphatically ruled out a move away.

"At the moment he is going to be playing football this evening for Real Madrid and he has got two and a half years left on his contract," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"He is one of the best players on earth. Why would one of the best players on earth go on loan? That’s ridiculous.

"That’s what I have always said. I have never deviated. Things can change but loans are ridiculous and there are not many clubs that can afford him anyway.

"He is happy and hopefully he will win a couple more things with Real Madrid."

Bale is in Real Madrid's squad to face UD Salamanca in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
