Gareth Bale tells Jose Mourinho the four positions he can play in as he makes Tottenham claim

Tottenham fans will just have to wait a little bit longer to see Gareth Bale back in a Spurs shirt.

Rejoining the Lilywhites on a season-long loan deal last Saturday from Real Madrid, the Welshman is currently out with a knee injury sustained on international duty earlier this month.

Bale is not expected to return until after next month's international fixtures, thus meaning it could potentially be against either West Ham or Burnley when he makes his second Tottenham debut.

Jose Mourinho has plenty of attacking options at the club and Premier League defenders will not like coming up against a front three of Bale, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.

But where exactly could we see Bale line up in the Spurs XI?

"Anywhere across the front. I'm comfortable on the right where l have played most of my career, behind the striker where l have played a lot, and I've played on the left a lot," he told Sky Sports in an exclusive interview.

"I can do a job upfront but predominantly the most of my career has been playing on the right wing, cutting in or going down the line.

"Anywhere across the front three I am comfortable."

Despite winning honours galore at the Santiago Bernabeu, his time in the Spanish capital has turned sour over the past couple of seasons after falling out of favour with Zinedine Zidane.

Spending the vast majority of his time watching on from the sidelines, the attacker has claimed that his energy levels have already gone up following his return to N17.

"'I am happy to be back and love this club with all my heart. I've had great memories here and l feel very happy and confident. My energy levels have gone up," added the Wales international.

"It was time for a change. I wanted to change for a little while but it hadn't materialised.

"This club means so much to me, it gave me my opportunities, and I felt it was a good time to come back. I feel the club is still going in a great direction and I wanted to be part of that."
