Gareth Bale set to miss Real Madrid's trip to Real Valladolid with ankle injury

Gareth Bale is expected to miss Real Madrid's trip to Real Valladolid in LaLiga on Sunday after picking up an ankle injury on Wednesday night.

The Welsh winger returned to the starting line-up and scored the opening goal as Los Blancos beat Unionistas de Salamanca 3-1 in the Copa del Rey, but was forced off early in the second half.

"He has twisted his ankle a bit," coach Zinedine Zidane said after the game. "I don't think it's much. We'll see tomorrow. He couldn't go on."

Real have not released a medical report, but Bale will undergo tests on Friday and is unlikely to be involved at the Jose Zorrilla on Sunday.

Eden Hazard has started ball work again after an ankle injury that has kept the Belgian sidelined since November, but is unlikely to return on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos trained normally on Thursday after missing the last two games with an ankle problem picked up in the final of the Spanish Supercopa earlier this month.
