Gareth Bale's move to the Chinese Super League is reportedly back on as the winger bids to call time on his Real Madrid career.
The 30-year-old has been at loggerheads with manager Zinedine Zidane since the summer, but the pair looked to have put their differences behind them once the season got underway.
However Bale is said to have taken issue with Zidane's decision to rest him for the Champions League clash with Brugge and now wants out.
Marca report that Bale has instructed his agent Jonathan Barnett to seek out a new club ahead of the January transfer window.
That is proving to be difficult though, with European clubs put off of a move for Bale due to his extortionate wages and unfavourable injury record.
He is currently earning 17 million euros (£14.7m) after tax, but has featured in just over half of Real's matches during his time at the club.
Attention has now turned to China, where Bale could earn more than his currently Madrid salary.
Shanghai Shenhua remain interested in signing him despite Bale snubbing a 25m euros-a-year (£21.6m) offer in the summer.
Other CSL clubs are also keen to land his signature, but only on a free, as they are duty-bound to donate the same sum of any transfer fee to the government to help support the games development nationally.
Madrid wanted 30-40 million euros (£25.9m - £34.5m) in the summer, which would have effectively cost any willing suitors double, along with a mammoth financial package to tempt him to the country.
The Los Blancos are now believed to be happy to let Bale leave for nothing though, just to get him off the wage bill.
