Gareth Bale's succinct two-word message to Tottenham fans about his future career plans

Gareth Bale had a succinct message for fans in a tongue-in-cheek letter published by Tottenham as they announced his arrival on a season-long loan.

Bale has rejoined Spurs on loan from Real Madrid seven years after leaving the club in a then-world record £85m deal.

The 31-year-old Wales star will wear the number nine shirt for Jose Mourinho's side.

Bale's transfer was finally confirmed shortly after the signing of Sergio Reguilon - also from Real Madrid - was announced.

Tottenham tweeted a rather brief - and tongue-in-cheek - official statement, which read: "The following statement was released by Gareth Bale, in response to questions about his future career plans: 'I'm back'."

Spurs also tweeted a special video to mark the occasion, while the player posted his own Twitter message.

Bale tweeted an update to his parting 2013 post, which read: "To all the Spurs fans, your support the last 6 years has been incredible and I'll never forget it, thank you #COYS"

The new post read: "To all the Spurs fans, after 7 years, I’m back! #COYS @SpursOfficial"

The statement was accompanied by a new photograph of Bale in the latest Spurs shirt.

Bale initially joined Spurs from Southampton in 2007 at the age of 17.

He went on to make 203 appearances and scored 55 goals for the London club.
