Gareth Bale's agent speaks out on his future as Spurs told what to do to seal permanent transfer

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Thursday, May 27.

Tottenham told what they must do to seal permanent Bale transfer

Gareth Bale had a profitable spell back at Tottenham Hotspur on-loan from Real Madrid as he scored 16 goals in all competitions during 2020/21.

That triggered clamours for Daniel Levy to make the move a permanent one in the summer transfer window.

Now, former Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov has given his opinion on Bale’s future. The Bulgarian has suggested that more playing time could tempt the Welshman to extend his stay in north London.

Bale’s agent rubbishes claims of retirement

On the topic of Bale, there have been a few reports floating around the winger could cancel the rest of his contract with Real Madrid and retire from football altogether after his spell with Spurs came to an end.

However, those claims have been rubbished by Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett.

He submitted a short statement to talkSPORT on Wednesday morning.

Ryan Mason sends classy message to Spurs fans

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s interim manager Ryan Mason has sent a classy message to the club’s supporters after his spell in charge concluded with the weekend’s victory at Leicester City.

The former midfielder oversaw seven games in his time in interim charge, winning four of those and he has issued a short statement following the conclusion of the 2020/21 campaign to thank Tottenham fans.

It remains to be seen whether he remains at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond the summer.

Several names have been linked with the Spurs vacancy, but the search for Jose Mourinho's permanent successor is now into a second month.
