Gareth Bale's agent gives update on his future amid Manchester United transfer links

Gareth Bale's agent has given an update on the future of the Real Madrid attacker amid reports Manchester United are interested in the former Spurs man.

Bale is thought to be considering his options in Spain after Zinedine Zidane returned to the club as manager and United have yet again been linked with the Welshman.

The Wales international has been a target for United in the past and some outlets claim the club were considering taking the wide man on a loan deal.

However, Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has ended that speculation claiming his client would not move anywhere on loan.

"There's more chance of me winning at Ascot than him going out on loan. It's not going to happen," Barnett told Sky Sports.

"I don't think he wants to go out on loan. He's got a lovely life and home in Spain."

However, Barnett suggested a permanent move away from the Bernabeu could be arranged due to Bale's situation with Zidane.

I think it would take something exceptional for him to leave and loans are not on the menu," he added.

"Obviously, Gareth's situation at Real hasn't improved. I think Mr. Zidane has decided he can do without him, so we have to wait and see."

Bale has been a target for United in previous seasons but as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to target young British talent this summer it would be unlikely the 29-year-old would be on Solskjaer's transfer list.

Daniel James was announced as the club's first signing of the summer after United agreed a deal believed to be in the region of £15million plus add ons for the former Swansea winger.

Solskjaer is hoping to add further names to his squad before the squad fly out on pre-season tour at the start of July.
