Gareth Bale's agent confirms stance on his future amid Tottenham Hotspur transfer links

Gareth Bale's agent - Jonathan Barnett - has admitted that he does not see his client making the decision to return to the Premier League.

The Welshman's future has been heavily debated in recent weeks, with reports claiming that Bale would be open to leaving Real Madrid after a disappointing campaign so far at the Bernabeu.

The 30-year-old, who made the switch to the Spanish capital back in 2013 from Tottenham Hotspur, has made just 14 La Liga appearances this season due to a injury-hit campaign.

Reports over the last few months in the national media have been suggesting that Bale could be allowed to leave the La Liga giants this summer in an attempt to get his career back on track, with a return to Spurs being predicted by some.

Tottenham behind the scenes

However, the chances of Bale, who has netted three goals in all competitions for Zinedine Zidane's side this season, returning to Spurs, as well as the Premier League in general, are slim, with his agent admitting that he is "happy" at Madrid and settled with his current lifestyle.

"I have no idea what his value is. His salary is quite high and also where he wants to go is very important in his life. I can't put a figure on it," Barnett told BBC Radio 4.

"It's for the clubs to decide what they want to pay for him.

"As I've always said, he's quite happy at Madrid. He has a very nice lifestyle, I don't see why he wouldn't see his career out in Madrid probably.

"It's his life that he wants to lead. Financially he will want enough for the rest of his life and all his children and grandchildren. He's won nearly everything in the world except the World Cup.

"To come back and play [in the Premier League] would be a big thing but I don't think he wants to do that at the moment as he's quite happy to play at Real Madrid."

Since joining the European giants from Spurs nearly seven years ago, the Wales international, who turns 31 next month, has scored 105 goals in 249 games, as well as helping the club win 15 major honours during that period.
