Gareth Bale's agent breaks silence on Tottenham transfer talks as Spurs eye sensational swoop

Gareth Bale's agent has confirmed talks are ongoing over a possible return to Tottenham.

football.london revealed today that Spurs are pursuing a loan deal with Real Madrid to bring back Bale, but they are in need of some help from the La Liga giants in regard to the Welshman's wages.

And tonight, Bale's agent has confirmed talks are indeed ongoing between Spurs, Real Madrid and Bale's camp, and a move to North London is preferred.

The Welshman's agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC Sport Wales: "Gareth still loves Spurs.

Jose Mourinho responds to Alexander Sorloth transfer rumours

"We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale's camp]. It's where he wants to be."

Bale spent five years with Spurs between 2007 and 2013 before making the move to Real Madrid for just over £85million.

The 31-year-old has won all there is to win at the Santiago Bernabeu, but his relationship with Real, their fans and manager Zinedine Zidane has deteriorated.

He is now on the lookout for a move having been close to leaving for China last summer, and it seems he has his heart set on a return to Tottenham.

That's despite reported interest from Manchester United, though any potential return will come down to how Spurs can make it work financially and just how flexible Real Madrid are willing to be.
