Gareth Bale's 5 possible destinations as LA Galaxy join race for Real Madrid outcast

Gareth Bale faces an important decision to make this summer.

The Welshman has one year remaining on his contract at Real Madrid, but is understood not to be part of Carlo Ancelotti's plan for next campaign.

Bale is likely to be sold by the La Liga giants in the coming weeks as Los Blancos look to free up finances as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Determining where the 31-year-old is likely to end up is no easy task, though Bale made clear at the end of the Premier League season that he had already decided his next club.

Mirror Sport have rounded up the likely destinations for the Wales international...

Cardiff City

Championship side Cardiff City are currently listed as the favourites to sign Bale, in a move that would shock the footballing world.

This would see the experienced forward return to his city of birth, featuring at a level not many would have expected.

It is difficult to imagine how the Bluebirds would be able to match the financial demands of Bale, who reportedly earns £600,000 per week at Madrid.

La Galaxy

La Galaxy have emerged as a potential option for Bale.

Latest reports from Spain have suggested that the MLS club have opened negotiations over a possible transfer.

A move to America is one that a number of high-profile have completed towards the end of their playing careers, with Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney among those to take this path.

Bale would expect to play a starring role in the side, but have to accept a significant wage reduction.

A return to Tottenham Hotspur has not yet been ruled out by Bale.

He enjoyed a productive campaign with the north London side last season, scoring 16 goals in 34 appearances for the club.

Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has made clear that Spurs do not have an option to re-sign the Welshman following his loan spell and would have to enter fresh negotiations with Real Madrid.

Juventus

A transfer that would see Bale potentially reunited with former Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

There is still some confusion regarding Ronaldo's future at the Italian giants, which could pave the way for another big-name arrival at the club.

Bale would certainly be able to adapt to the demands of Serie A and would have no issues with settling in at a top club like Juventus, having previously spent time at one of the world's biggest sides.

Man Utd

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to strengthen his group of players this summer as Manchester United look to mount a Premier League title charge.

With the Red Devils prepared to splash out on Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, offering the 21-year-old £350,000 per week, Bale is a player that could follow the English youngster through the door.

Bale is unlikely to command a significant transfer fee due to being in the final year of his contract and could add further attacking firepower to United's forward line.
