Gareth Bale putting Zinedine Zidane differences aside to retain Real Madrid future

Gareth Bale is willing to put aside his differences with Zinedine Zidane to continue to fight for his place at Real Madrid.

Wales superstar Bale has a cool relationship with Madrid boss Zidane after the Frenchman tried to force him out last summer to shift his huge wages.

He was set to join Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning for free on a £1million a week deal but Real aborted the deal as they wanted a transfer fee.

Bale, who turned 30 last year, has since been in and out of Madrid's side this season.

He has made 18 appearances with just 13 starts and was an unused sub in their previous two games.

But Bale is under contract until June 2022 on a mega deal worth over £600,000-a-week.

Like the rest of society, Bale is hoping the coronavirus pandemic ends so life and football can return to some sort of normality.

He is not agitating for a move and remains content to let his contract expire before seeking a new club.

But it remains to be seen if the shifting financial landscape due to the crisis forces a change in stance.

Bale has recently been seen practising his love of golf on social media during the shutdown.

Real fans have previously questioned his priorities with Predrag Mijatovic, the former Real striker, saying they are "Wales, golf, and after that Real Madrid".

Last November Bale even admitted he gets "more excited” playing for Wales than Real Madrid.

But his hopes of playing at Euro 2020 were dashed when the tournament was postponed a year.
