Gareth Bale placed on 'blacklist' leaving summer transfer plan in disarray

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has decided he doesn't want Gareth Bale at the Bernabeu next season and has placed the Welshman on a 'blacklist', reports suggest.

Bale had previously stated his intent to return to Spain at the end of his loan spell at Tottenham.

The Welshman's Hollywood return to north London has turned into a nightmare under Jose Mourinho.

Bale struggled to recover from an injury and despite working his way back into the side and getting among the goals, he was dropped after a poor showing in the north London derby and hasn't started a league game since.

But he could end up in a state of limbo at the end of the season, with Madrid eager to offload him in the summer.

Spanish outlet Sport claims Perez has placed Bale on a 'blacklist' of players he doesn't want at the club.

Zinedine Zidane is unlikely to complain too much, having effectively decided he didn't want him at the club last year.

He could be forced to welcome the Welshman back, however, as Bale's contract runs until 2022.

Bale's situation in north London wasn't helped when, during the international break, he indicated that he had only come back to Spurs to gain fitness before the summer's European championships.

He said: "I think the main reason I came to Spurs this year was to play football first and foremost.

"Going into the Euros I wanted to be match-fit. The original plan was to do a season at Spurs and after the Euros still have a year left at Real Madrid.

"My plan is to go back, that's as far I have planned."

Now, however, Bale could be a man without a station when the transfer window opens up.
