Gareth Bale out of Real Madrid's next two games with hamstring problem

Gareth Bale is set to miss Real Madrid's next two games, against Espanyol and Club Brugge, because of a hamstring problem.

The Welsh winger has picked up a fresh injury and will sit out Saturday's La Liga game at the Santiago Bernabeu, as well as Wednesday's trip to Belgium in the Champions League.

Madrid released medical reports on Thursday for Eden Hazard and Marcelo, with the former Chelsea attacker set to be sidelined for up to a month and the Brazilian left-back doubtful for the Clasico against Barcelona on December 18.

Real hope Bale will be back for the game at Camp Nou, but there is no medical report for the 30-year-old, who does not want information about his fitness issues shared by the club.

Nevertheless, news of his latest issue has been leaked and it will be a blow to coach Zinedine Zidane.

The Frenchman, who is also without Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez, will be expected to use some of his younger players - Rodrigo, Vinicius Junior and Luka Jovic - alongside Karim Benzema for the two upcoming games, the second of which is a dead rubber anyway with Madrid already qualified in second place for the Champions League knockout stages.
