Gareth Bale has opened up on his summer move from Real Madrid to Tottenham.
The Welshman rejoined Spurs after seven years at Real Madrid ahead of this season, joining on a season-long loan deal which took some time to show its fruits.
Bale got off to a slow start in North London, struggling for game time and form, but he has sprung to life in recent weeks, scoring three braces in four games to help Tottenham return to form.
The 31-year-old's return to Tottenham, where he made his name as a superstar of world football, was dubbed a dream transfer, but overall, it has been a mixed loan spell to-date.
And as Bale finds his feet and shows he might still have it in the locker after all, he has spoken about why he joined Spurs, walking away from Real Madrid, albeit temporarily, after winning all there is to win at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Everyone knows how much I love Tottenham," he said in a fans' Q&A on the club's Twitch channel. "I left Madrid because I wanted to play, I wanted to help the team and to get back to a place where I knew gave me so much love and it was very easy to make the decision."
He added: "It's something (the move) that has helped me get my head down and concentrate on just football."
During the Q&A, Bale was also asked about his career so far and the best player he has played with having played alongside some of the world's best players at Real Madrid.
But there is no doubt in the Welshman's mind who gets the nod.
He replied: "The best has been Cristiano Ronaldo, for the goals, the titles that we have won together. Without doubt, he is one of the best footballers of all time."
