Gareth Bale leaves Real Madrid training ground early amid Tottenham transfer interest

Gareth Bale left Real Madrid’s training base early during a pre-season clash with Getafe on Tuesday, amid transfer interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to reports in Spain, cited by Wales Online, Bale left in the 27th minute of the behind-closed-doors friendly at their Valdebebas training complex.

Bale has been on an individual training programme since he returned from international duty with a knee problem, so was not involved in the fixture.

Real’s preparations for their La Liga crown defence went well, as they thumped Getafe 6-0 in the friendly.

But cameras captured footage of the 31-year-old leaving before the half-hour mark of the game.

It comes as Spurs look set to secure a sensational double swoop on Madrid for Bale and full-back Sergio Reguilon.

football.london understands Tottenham are in talks with Real over a loan deal to bring Bale back to north London, seven years after he left the club.

Jonathan Barnet, Bale’s agent, confirmed on Tuesday night talks were ongoing.

"Gareth still loves Spurs," Barnett told BBC Sport Wales.

"We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale's camp]. It's where he wants to be."
