Gareth Bale is loving retirement life as Wales legend shares adorable video of garden kickabout with his kids

Wales legend Gareth Bale has posted an adorable video of him playing football with his children.

The footage was shared exactly three weeks since the Wales and Real Madrid icon hung up his boots, with the 33-year-old making the shock announcement he was retiring from all forms of football in January.

The bombshell news came just a few weeks after Wales' first World Cup appearance in 64 years in Qatar. Now that he has called time on his illustrious career, Bale will be able to spend more time with his nearest and dearest.

Two of Bale's four children are shown in the clip: Axel and his youngest Xander. The Cardiff native gives them both a lay-off before they strike the ball into the back of the next. Axel is dressed head to toe in Madrid kit, while Xander is draped in the colours of Cymru.

With Bale's huge 49.8 million following on his Instagram account, the video has picked up 3.2 million views in just one day.

"Project Bale has already started," said one viewer. "The next gen Bales on their way," said another.

The former Spurs man has four children, two daughters and two sons, with childhood sweetheart Emma Rhys-Jones: Alba Violet, Nava Valentina, Axel and Xander. Eldest Alba will be 11 this year, with Xander turning two in July.

Bale is set to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament this month, where a number of professional players will be joining him on the tee.
