Gareth Bale impressed by new-look Tottenham - and would like to have played under Ange Postecoglou

Gareth Bale says he would have liked the opportunity to play in Ange Postecoglou’s new-look Tottenham team.

Spurs turned to the former Celtic manager following failed experiments with perhaps more established names in Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte.

While Postecoglou is not getting carried away, his team are unbeaten in the Premier League thus far and have a brilliant chance of extending that run at home to Sheffield United on Saturday.

Playing an exciting brand of football and full of goals even despite the departure of the talismanic Harry Kane, the likes of Cristiano Romero, Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr look reborn under his watch.

With new faces James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario impressing too, Spurs look to have been transformed.

Bale, who played in an attacking Tottenham team under Harry Redknapp before returning briefly for the Mourinho era, is impressed and says he would have enjoyed playing under the Australian.

“Yeah, definitely,” he said when asked if he would have enjoyed playing in this Spurs team.

“It’s great to see. They’ve got the style back, I think that’s something the club were probably looking for as well. Hopefully there’s still more to come from the team.”
