Gareth Bale hits new Real Madrid low as Zinedine Zidane refuses to confirm future

Gareth Bale hit a new low at Real Madrid on Saturday after he was jeered by fans just three minutes into the 2-1 home win over Eibar.

And after the match, coach Zinedine Zidane refused to be drawn on whether or not the Welshman will still be at the club next season.

Bale's failure to control a pass just three minutes into the match led to loud jeers from the home fans, who now seem to be more against the former Tottenham man than ever before.

He was again whistled when he missed a good chances just a few minutes later, as fans seemed to blame him for being one of the key reasons why the team were a goal down at half-time.

However, Karim Benzema struck twice in the second half as Real turned the game around to win 2-1.

When asked about Bale's future after the game, Zidane would only say: "We will see. Gareth is a Real Madrid player with two years left on his contract."

The Frenchman was then asked about the jeers from the crowd, who have turned against Bale in recent months following below-par performances and fitness issues.

"The whistles don’t make us happy but the supporters come to see their team play well," added Zidane.

"The supporters know that the season is over. The only thing we have to play for is to finish second."
