Gareth Bale faces ultimate Real Madrid snub if he fails to secure transfer

Real Madrid are reportedly considering dumping Gareth Bale in their Under-23s side if he doesn’t find a new club.

Bale faces an uncertain future at the Spanish giants following the return of Zinedine Zidane as manager, and was recently left out of matchday squad as Madrid overcame Villarreal last weekend.

Manchester United are long-term admirers of the Welsh superstar, and are believed to be considering a swoop as part of a mass squad overhaul this summer.

But Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett spoke out on Wednesday, saying Bale wants to stay at Madrid and will even see out his contract which expires in 2022.

He told Sky Sports News : "He wants to stay. I am not sure that Mr Zidane wants him to stay but at the moment Gareth wants to stay.

"He has got a contract, he will quite happily see it out until 2022. He has been and is, in my opinion, one of the top three or four players in the world.

“This game is a game of opinions and Mr Zidane doesn't think that. That is his opinion, he is entitled to it, I won't criticise him."

These comments, however, have angered Madrid chiefs and left the club questioning the forward’s commitment to the club.

A source told The Sun : “There are people who give nothing to the team’s soul and ethos.

“They will not remain here under Zidane. This summer will be one of the busiest in the club’s recent history.”

This latest incident may well alert United, who are keen to bolster their attacking ranks after a miserable campaign.
