Gareth Bale expected to travel with Real Madrid for Tottenham clash as he trains after China transfer collapse

Gareth Bale trained indoors at Real Madrid's Valdebebas base on Monday morning, but is expected to travel to Munich with the rest of the squad for tomorrow’s Audi Cup clash against Tottenham.

The winger’s future is up in the air after a move to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning broke down and he could now start the season at Real.

Jiangsu Suning have signed Croatian striker Ivan Santini and now have five foreign players on their books, which will be reduced to the permitted four when Gabriel Paletta leaves this week.

The CSL transfer window closes on Wednesday and no more movements are expected at this stage, with a third attempt by Jiangsu to sign Bale now unlikely.

Bale had twice seemed set to join the club, but a dispute over a fee saw Real rule out a move initially, with president Florentino Perez looking to receive at least €30million for the 30-year-old.

Jiangsu, meanwhile, had been hoping to sign Bale and had offered the winger a reported €30m per year.

The player’s family are also thought to be unsure about moving to the Far East, although those claims have been denied by his representative, Jonathan Barnett, and Madrid will now look to find a buyer in Europe.

Tottenham are one of the clubs who could be interested in Bale and that will add extra intrigue to Tuesday's game at the Allianz Arena.
