Gareth Bale delights fans as he recreates iconic Champions League final goal

Gareth Bale has recreated his iconic volley for Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final - all from the comfort of his own living room.

The Welshman stole the show in Kiev two years ago with a brace as the La Liga giants beat Liverpool 3-1, with his first being an audacious overhead kick from just inside the area.

Team-mate Marcelo delivered a cross from the left and found Bale, who spectacularly connected with the ball to send it past Reds keeper Loris Karius and put his side back in the ascendancy.

The Welsh wonder would later add a second thanks to some poor keeping from Karius as he let the ball slip through his hands, but it was his first on the night that is still vividly remembered by football fans.

And Bale sought to reignite those memories on Sunday afternoon as he uploaded a clip of him creating the goal to his Instagram account - all in the name of charity.

The 30-year-old was taking part in the 2.6 Challenge, a fundraiser launched on the day thousands were due to be pounding the capital over the 26-mile course of the London Marathon.

People are being encouraged to use raise funds in a variety of ways, be it a 2.6km run or, in Bale's case, performing 26 keepy-uppies before recreating his most famous goal.

And it seems the Welshman is keen for some of his famous friends to get in on the act too as he tagged them in his post on Instagram.

"My 2.6 challenge for @velindrecc NHS is complete! Now let’s see yours @samwarbs (former Welsh rugby player Sam Warburton). Make sure you get involved with your own 2.6 challenge today or you can donate to the charity by clicking the link in my bio," read the post.

Fans also appeared to enjoy seeing the goal recreated online, with one commenting: "OMGGG THAT WAS MAGNIFICENT".
