Gareth Bale’s stunning return to Tottenham Hotspur is a done deal, according to reports on Wednesday night.
MailOnline report an agreement has been reached between Real Madrid and Spurs over a year-long loan deal, said to be worth more than £13m in wages.
The Spanish giants will fund part of Bale's huge salary, which is currently believed to be £350,000 after tax in Spain.
An official announcement will be made in the coming days, the report says, with no player moving in the opposite direction as part of the deal.
Manager Jose Mourinho is believed to have driven through the deal, holding talks with the Wales star and promising to make him the focal point of his team.
The future of the Wales football star has been the subject of intense speculation over the past couple of years, after falling out of favour of manager Zinedine Zidane at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Manchester United have previously been linked with a move for the Real Madrid forward, and he was also thought to be close to a move to China last season.
However, in an explosive TV interview while on international duty, Bale hit out at Madrid for "blocking everything at the last second" when he tried to move to China.
There is no indication of when exactly Bale’s move will be announced by Spurs, but it is thought it will be once a few minor details of the deal have been ironed out.
An earlier report on Wednesday suggested Bale, who suffered a knee injury playing for Wales, will not be fully fit for another month.
