Gareth Bale has opened up on his future in a far-reaching interview amid Real Madrid exit talk.
Bale is on international duty with Wales and has taken the opportunity to have a pop at Real.
The former Tottenham star has been linked with both Spurs and Manchester United in recent seasons as his stay in Spain has gone sour.
That has not stopped him starring in infrequent moments for the Spanish giants, such as his impressive overhead kick goal in the Champions League final win over Liverpool in the summer of 2018.
Now Bale has broken his silence on his future and admitted he would be interested in a Premier League return if the opportunity arose.
"I tried to leave last year and they blocked everything at the last second. It was a project I was excited for but it didn't materialise. There have been other instances where we have tried to go but the club won't allow it or they have done something," he told Sky Sports.
"So I guess it is for the club [to answer about what will happen]. What can I say? I want to play football. I am still motivated to play football so I guess it is on the club really. I can't do anything, they are in control of everything.
"I have a contract so all I can do is carry on what I am doing and hopefully something comes up.
"It is in the club's hands and they have made things very difficult to be honest."
Asked if he wanted a return to the Premier League, he said: "Like I said, it's not really in my hands. It's one of those situations where if those options arise it is something I would look at, for sure.
"We'll see what happens. We have plenty of time left in this transfer window, and I guess a couple of others as well.
"Time will tell but the decision is in Real Madrid's hands."
