Gareth Bale answers the question all Tottenham fans want to know

Tottenham Hostpur got back to winning ways in the league on Sunday with a thumping 4-0 victory over Burnley with one man stealing the show.

Gareth Bale returned to Spurs amid much fanfare in September on a season-long loan from Real Madrid but things have not gone quite to script for the Welsh star... until now.

Bale struggled with injury when he first arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Sunday's match was just his third league start since his move back to London.

Prior to Sunday, Bale had managed just one league goal in eight appearances, alongside his five strikes in the FA Cup, Europa League and Carabao Cup combined.

The Welshman trebled his goal tally for the Premier League season in the space of 55 blistering minutes. His first was a right-footed effort from close range following a Son Heung-min cross and the second was a trademark left foot shot into the top corner.

"[It was] nice to get a goal [early], especially with the right foot as I don't get too many of them. It was great to get off the mark, great for the team to start quickly and I think build confidence and we grew more and more in the game," Bale told Spurs TV.

Harry Kane added a second shortly after following a raking pass from Bale before Lucas Moura added a third in the first-half. Ten minutes after the restart Bale was on the scoresheet once more as Spurs wrapped up a convincing home win.

"We have the talent and the players to score a lot of goals so it was nice to get four as a team," added Bale.

There have been question marks about Bale's performances since he returned to Spurs with many wondering if he could ever return to his blistering best. The Welshman has done his talking on the pitch with four goals and two assists in his last four appearances and when asked if he was back to the form and fitness he wanted to be at Bale said:

"I am building, yeah it has taken a while but I am happy and I am growing in confidence, my fitness is getting better and obviously I think you can see that in my performances."
