Gareth Bale has appeared to aim a gently dig to former Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was sacked by Spurs recently having failed to get the most out of his talented squad, one that included Real Madrid loanee Bale, who has made just eight Premier League starts this season.
On Sunday, Bale showed what he can do with a start, scoring a hat-trick to help Tottenham see off bottom club Sheffield United with a 4-0 home win.
And after the game, the Welshman appeared to send a thinly-veiled dig toward Mourinho and the style of football the experience Portuguese boss implemented in north London.
“(It's) the fact that we’re more on the front foot, we’re closer to the goal and you’re able to score more," he told Sky Sports.
“We’re playing football the Tottenham way.”
Speaking about the future at Spurs, Bale added: "I feel good, as I’ve said before I just needed to play games, to get a run of games and I’m doing that now,' Bale said, looking to the future.
“I’m happy and when I’m happy I normally play well.
“It was a great performance from the first whistle. I feel like we were on the front foot and we pressed well, got hold of the ball, played some good football. It’s always nice to get another (hat-trick) ball.
“You have to take your chances when they come, and I had a few tonight.
“Winning always makes everyone happy, it gives a winning mentality to the dressing room. That’s all we can do.”
Bale's loan spell at Tottenham is set to come to an end after this season, though Spurs do have the option to extend his deal by a further season.
That decision will likely be up to the next head coach once Tottenham decide on Mourinho's successor ahead of next season.
