Gareth Anscombe's touching farewell message to Cardiff Blues on last day with region before Ospreys move

Gareth Anscombe has issued a touching farewell message to Cardiff Blues fans on his last day with the region before moving to the Ospreys next season.

After the Wales international's future was up in the air for weeks, the 27-year-old fly-half resolved to commit his future to the Ospreys last month.

Now, after his final day with the Arms Park outfit on Tuesday, Anscombe has issued a touching messages to Blues fans where he says he hopes he made them proud.

Here's the full message

"My last day with the  @cardiff_blues  today. Forever grateful for my time in the blue jersey, some amazing memories. More importantly I’ve met a lot of good people along the way that have gone on to become great mates. Thank you to the arms park faithful, I hope I made you proud".

Anscombe had also been linked with clubs in England, including Bristol, Bath and Harlequins.

But moving across the bridge would have ruled him out of playing for Wales at the World Cup and beyond.

He had appealed to the Professional Rugby Board over his pay banding, but  that was rejected,  and it then just came down to him choosing between the Blues and the Ospreys.
