If you’ve been growing sunflowers, the butterflies and bees have had their turn, and now it’s time to let the birds loose on them. Once the back of the flower head is turning yellowy brown, cut it down with a few centimetres of stem, hang upside down somewhere airy to dry, then place in the forks of trees for birds to feast on.
