Start growing some microleaves now, and within a fortnight you’ll be harvesting a flavoursome antidote to the recent mince pie overdose. Raid your seed stash for chard, coriander, radish, mizuna, fenugreek and fennel. Sow thickly into a seed tray filled with moistened seed compost, or vermiculite to the depth of your little finger. Don’t cover, but keep seeds moist and place on a sunny windowsill. Snip when 5-8cm tall and sprinkle on pasta, salads or fish.
