Don’t forget that Christmas tree sitting forlornly at your back door. Find your nearest recycling point at recyclenow.com, or make use of it in your garden. Shred or cut up the branches with secateurs, then use as a rough mulch under acid-loving blueberry bushes: the trunk can be chopped up and stacked next to the compost heap as an insect hotel.
