A garden borrowing service has been launched to allow Londoners the chance to enjoy relaxing private outdoor spaces with friends.
The scheme has been set up after research revealed that more than 40 per cent of Brits said that nature, wildlife, and visiting local green spaces is key to their well-being since Covid-19 restrictions began.
Guests are invited to book their preferred time slot and relax in a range of places, whether it be a peaceful, sunny garden on the coast or an idyllic urban oasis.
The New Zealand wine brand Stoneleigh has partnered with DJ Lilah Parsons and garden expert Michael Perry, also known Mr Plant Geek, to promote the garden borrowing service, which will operate across three UK cities, including London, Manchester and Brighton.
All of the booking sales will be donated to non-for-profit organisation Grow2Know, which is about to renovate two garden projects in Lancaster West Estate, beneath Grenfell Tower in west London.
Mr Perry said: “No matter how big or small, outdoor and garden spaces are so important for our wellbeing especially during the Covid pandemic.
“Being surrounded by nature and taking the time to just relax is something I’ve always loved so I’m proud to be part of this initiative, giving people the opportunity to spend time in urban gardens with friends and raise funds to help renovate community gardens for everyone to enjoy.”
