Gardai urge people to avoid Kimmage Road following collision

A busy South Dublin road has been closed in both directions after a crash.

Emergency services are currently at the scene on Kimmage Road with diversions now in place via Greenlea.

Gardai are urging everyone to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

They said: "Traffic Alert: Diversions in place due to a Road Traffic Collision on  Kimmage Rd West, Terenure. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes."

AA Roadwatch said: "Gardai are dealing with a crash on Kimmage Rd West at the KCR junction, with the road completely blocked.

"Diversions are in place via Greenlea Rd. Traffic is slow approaching on Fortfield Rd coming from the Rathfarnham side."
